Una mejor explicación es que la administración involucra la coordinación y supervisión de las actividades de otros, de tal forma que éstas se lleven a cabo de forma eficiente y eficaz. Ya sabemos que coordinar y supervisar el trabajo de otros es lo que distingue una posición gerencial de una que no lo es. Sin embargo, esto no significa que los gerentes puedan hacer lo que quieran en cualquier momento, en cualquier lugar o de cualquier forma. Por el contrario, la administración implica garantizar que la gente responsable de realizar actividades laborales las realice de forma eficiente y eficaz, o al menos es a lo que aspiran los gerentes.
